The Total Integration IN CHRIST from Ephesians Series #1.

This blog by a psychotherapist studying human behavior has so much good advice and insight into present day American Society, that there is a reluctance to express any shortcomings with God’s standard for human thought and behavior as given in the Bible; and in fact if youth are able to do things like she says, for example one of her 12 suggested traits for “authentic” or real people (personalities) is “4.  They Are Open-Minded. Authentic people value trust, faith, and acceptance.”  Then throw in honesty (like intellectual honesty and integrity) of trait # 2, it borders very closely on the integrated life IN CHRIST of the book of Ephesians.

Something about Kristi Tackett-Newburg:

Kristi Tackett-Newburg is the CEO/President of Counseling Connections & Associates located in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition, she works as a licensed independent mental health practitioner and Business Consultant. Kristi is a Ph.D. Candidate and her dissertation focuses on leader emotional intelligence and Millennial subordinate job engagement and turnover intentions. You can connect with her on her website, Facebook or on Twitter @ktackettnewburg.  (You might say from this long thesis title that she is striving to help business employers deal with social success in the workplace.)

And her major thesis is to hold up a standard of “authentic people”, perhaps the new buzz word of Psychology and Psychiatry, since she is both dealing with business corporations, personal counseling, and working on a Ph.D.

Authentic: “Not false or copied; genuine; real; representing one’s true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified.”

What Kristi is about as important as what she thinks, but we will strive to more objectively deal with her beliefs as an authentic person.

The burden of proof here is that in the sight of Christ, “light” and “righteousness” most accurately defines the real person IN CHRIST.  Surely you would agree that the most important institution to Our Heavenly Father is marriage, deemed by Him to be more important than business, even denominational churches, or Harvard and all institutions of the world (hope you are not thinking as some have expressed “Marriage is a good institution, but who wants to live in an institution.}

  1. First of all, there is not acceptable thinking and behavior without a recognition that according to God and the Bible, the world, any society, is separated in the will and mind of the Heavenly Father into “children of the world” and “children of light”; and that any society or cultural has the protective mechanism to obliterate this distinction`. (There are obviously more non-believers than believers, and in our minds the majority rules.)  In fact real convictions go far beyond that as the Bible states, “The friend of the world is the enemy of God.”
  2. The Apostle Paul wrote in II Corinthians 6:14:

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

  1. And if you think that I harsh language about either an unbelieving husband or wife, then consider the instructions of the Bible for mixed marriages after the marriage.

If any brother has a wife who does not believe, and she is willing to live with him, let him not divorce her. 13 And a woman who has a husband who does not believe, if he is willing to live with her, let her not divorce him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. 15 But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace. 16 For how do you know, O wife, whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know, O husband, whether you will save your wife? “ (I Corinthians 7:12-16)

Shockers right, if you have overlooked that in your Bible reading as most of us do.  Rightly so, sitting there in your home with a husband or wife “who does not believe”, a person you love, it is hard to think that God, Your Heavenly Father, thinks he or she is darkness, he or she is unrighteous.  HOWEVER WE CAN NEVER GAIN A CONCEPT OF THE AUTHENTIC OR REAL PERSON, UNTIL WE WORK OUT WAY TO BUY THIS PRINCIPLE NOT ONLY OF MARRIAGE BUT ALSO OF LIFE, IN THE MARKETPLACE, IN THE HOME, OR ANY PLACE.

With this series, a proposal for light and righteous is advocated from the book of Ephesians which might be entitled TOTAL INTEGRATION IN CHRIST, and in closing the reminder from the book of Ephesians on how to truly LEARN CHRIST.

17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of[d] the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18 having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; 19 who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”  (Ephesians 4:17-24)
