Bonds of Peace Are Based on the 7 ONEs, Not Theology and Philosophy.

Evangelism in churches by Beth sponsored by Lifeway in a global telecast on September 15 is  a lot of smoke, but is thin enough to make money for Beth and Lifeway.  Is the Lifeway CEO, Thom Rainer, primarily seeking to promote his Church Growth Movement theories, his convictions on Scofield and the rapture, or the gospel of prosperity?  Who knows?  but with that combination of unsound doctrines, why does it matter:  it is obviously a boost for the Falling Away of Southern Baptists and of the world.

It is apparent that the Church Growth movement is promoted by those of the gospel of success and prosperity movement, the false rapture, millennium, and dispensationalism of the Scofield reference Bible, so that when churches grow under these leaders they are going to grow in these same unsound doctrines.

Is it discouraging for us of over 74 years in southern Baptist work to see so many strange and weird influences coming into our view, so many that have worked since at least 1955 when this church movement started without most of us knowing about it.  Yes, it is discouraging; however even less so that the discouragement of the inevitable Falling Away now happening in the world and the body of Christ.

What is concluded:  that as part of a messages on truth, it should be made clear that these strange efforts are part of the Falling Away, so that if just one soul caught up in these weird and strange signs might be rescued from head over heels jumping into the falling away.

How can you identify these strangers to sound Bible doctrine and Baptist Distinctives?

  1. Unlike all the predictions of the Falling Away in the Bible, they preach and teach an optimism, a great revival of all revivals which is the future of the Church. You must compare today with so many false prophets and teachers as predicted in the Bible and by Jesus with also what happened in Jeremiah when all the many prophets were dead wrong on optimism for the future of Israel except Jeremiah.  Like today they were saying “Peace, peace, when there is no peace.”
  2. They claim to be the leaders of the great movement. Of course, that is just incidental that they would appoint and promote themselves as saviors from the falling away.
  3. They for the most part are Scofield mites, so that there optimism for the future of the Church must somehow be related to dispensationalism, if only the false belief they hold that in a short time they will get out it all for one thousand years.

“I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called… {called to be a Christian we would say today, but at the origin of Christianity and Christian churches, and as an introduction to the only bonds of peace Christians have, the phrase for the calling was in the words of Ephesians 4:4b “just as you were called in one hope of your calling”}, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” (Ephesians 4:1-3 NKJV)
