PTB39 of 48: Salvation in a Nutshell from Galatians 2:20 and Power to Do and Believe From Romans 8.

“I am crucified with Christ,

Nevertheless I live;

Yet not I but Christ that lives in me.

And the life I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,

Who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

(Galatians 2:20)

“the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”

The weakness of the law (morality only) is no provision inwardly of the Spirit

In the flesh only there is no provision for motivation and strength to overcome sins, wrong doings, and the bondage of sin and Satan

No condemnation by God of walking according to the Spirit

Getting into or “In Christ Jesus” is to key to walking in the Spirit of Christ and God

There is another law or God given rule for all His creatures, “the law (axiom) is “the Spirit of life in Christ”

Like gravity the law or sin and death is inevitable for all, and freedom from this law is provided by Christ and His inward spirit

the reason David wrote in the Psalms, “thy rod and thy staff they comfort me” is because the rod of God and Christ disciplines us to stay on the right path and the hook of the staff is used by God to rescue us when we get in trouble

the only means God has provided by these benefits is “by sending His own Son”, so that through faith in Him and the Cross the righteous requirements of all God’s laws through the internal Spirit of God find full fulfillment

those who naturally walk only in the flesh have their minds focused on the things of flesh and the natural world

those who take a lifestyle of walking according to the Spirit have a focus of the things of the Spirit of God

to be carnally dead in the natural state of birth IS DEATH

to be spiritually minded is LIFE and PEACE

the carnal mind is naturally contrary to and at enmity to all the laws of God

the carnal mind is not subject to the laws of God nor can it be

there is no way any human only in the natural flesh can please God

If indeed the Spirit of Christ (or God, the same) dwells within you, through repentance and faith with forgiveness of sins, then you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit

Without the Spirit of Christ, no one anywhere can rightly claim then he or she does not belong to God and Christ as a child of Christ

All persons are either children of God or children of the world, and what makes the difference internally and sometimes unseen or deceptive is the internal presence of the Spirit

“And if Christ is in you”:  (1) the body is dead because of sin; and (2) the Spirit is life because of righteousness

The marvel and miracle is that the same Spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead can also DWELL INSIDE YOU

The same God that raised Jesus from the dead will give NEW LIFE to your mortal bodies

This new life comes from His Spirit that dwells in you through repentance and faith.

Romans 8

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, whodo not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
