“Snatching, Stumbling, and the Falling Away” was written years ago and can currently be found on Amazon.com and also with postings on SunGrist WordPress.  That is also true of “Hideout for Bad Habits”, written years ago, but so far only published with posts in a Facebook group called by that name “Hideout for Bad Habits”.  The efforts now is to look at the table of contents for both, determine the subject or subjects of overlap of them, share it, and further comment.  This is a challenge to do because SSATFA is largely on the Gospel of Mark with emphasis on the Falling Away, and Hideout for Bad habits based on the temple message of Jeremiah 7 and the NT verse of II Timothy 3:1-8.  It is a little early in our research of both topics in SunGrist WordPress to definitely conclude on the prime area of overlap of both Bible subjects, but it seems now and by way of introduction that they come to a focus on II Thessalonians 2:37.

I.  This is a good place to start, II Thessalonians 2:37 and by way first of a review of that post.

The Rising Tide of Sin and Lawlessness

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.
Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (II Thessalonians 2:3-7)

Part of the destructive unsound doctrine of itching ears teaching and preaching is to destroy for personal profit or disciples the simplicity of the last things (eschatology) recorded here in II Thessalonians 2:3-7)

1. Falling away of Christians and the whole world first.
2. A visual on the many of sin, and in the light of ISIS and the other of the 3 frogs of terrorism that will being the world to Megiddo, the son of perdition is already revealed as one or more of these three.
3. The mystery or secret of iniquity continues to grow and expand inevitably in the world until finally the Holy Spirit is withdrawn from earth, and then things get violent–could it be anymore than in the world today.
4. The Second Coming of Christ.

For example, in all probability you can remember some of the unsound doctrine malarkey of today more than you can this simplicity from God’s Word of what is happening in the world today to lead to the END. And what part of END do you not understand?

IV.  To kick off this series which combines SSATFA with Hideout, it would do well for all of us to read in entirety II Thessalonians, and in this case in the New King James Version to give us a fresh look at it.

1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
