PTB2-51: The Full Spectrum of the Glorious Gospel

SAME GOSPEL, VARIABLE EMPHASIS

27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.”

Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

2Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to Him.”

30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake. 31 Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out. 32 And I, if I am [e]lifted up from the earth, will draw all peoples to Myself.” 33 This He said, signifying by what death He would die.”  (John 12:27-30)

INTRODUCTION;

This message is a heart felt tribute to the often-maligned Gospel of Christ.  The Confusion Creators have and do spread so much falsehood flake that sometimes it is hard to appreciate the simplicity, the beauty , and the many faceted nature of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The personage of “Christ” was well established in the OT as good news or the gospel, and Jesus of Nazareth just slid into the description as the very only Son of God.  Many OT Scriptures we would could quote on and about the Christ or Gospel of the Christ, but perhaps the prediction by Moses in Deuteronomy is best:

The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to him. 16 This is what you asked of the LORD your God at Horeb on the day of the assembly, when you said, “Let us not hear the voice of the LORD our God or see this great fire anymore, so that we will not die!”…”  (Deuteronomy 18:15)

I would choose to modify the statement of Rod Kampen online when he writes “The true biblical gospel climaxes with the proclamation that Jesus has become the Christ, Lord of all, the king (Acts 2:363:20-2310:36), to when Jesus delivers the kingdom to God the Father that He a may be all in all.  That does not one bit lessen the Gospel emphasis that Jesus is a name above every name on earth, and that every knee on earth is to bow at His name and every tongue confess.

And only at the END of time do we come fully to see how the “gospel of the kingdom” is supremely a gospel of the LORD God, Maker of heaven and earth—

When we look deeper into I Corinthians 15, we must remember it is about the GOSPEL, .  Paul says so in the first words of this chapter:

15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures…”

Then later in the chapter he comes to preach the gospel of the END, THE APEX OF THE GOSPEL AS RELATED TO GOD THE FATHER, ‘THAT GOD THE FATHER MAY BE ALL IN ALL”

Scofield mites have so confused the gospel of the kingdom that they wince when you read or quote these words in the Bible, and then later like all good Pharisees they cry fowl play of not literal Bible when you have read this literally in the Bible.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.”  (I Corinthians 19:24-28)

It is like Wes writes online, We have come to the part of our “What is the Gospel” series that is typically overlooked when modern Christians present the “Gospel.” We talk about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, but often leave out any serious discussion of the kingdom; if we mention the kingdom at all, we often equate “kingdom” with “church.” The kingdom is actually the very heart of the Gospel story and kingdom is about far more than the church.”

It is not my fault we can are so limited in human frailties that we can not take the full spectrum of the Gospel of the kingdom and Christ in at one great scoop:  it is the Gospel of repentance that John the Baptist preached before Christ; it is the gospel of the kingdom that Jesus came  originally preaching—a gospel centered around the Heavenly Father; it is a Gospel that includes the vastness of the church established by Jesus as MY CHURCH, the one body of Christ; not until Jesus was lifted up on the cross, drawing all men until Him did the gospel change from a focus on God the Father to Jesus and the Atonement; after the resurrection of Christ, granted Jesus went back to teachings his disciples the things pertaining to God the Father and the kingdom; and THEN THERE IS THE END when Jesus Christ will deliver the kingdom to God the Father.  Yet in all this, God never changed and the Gospel never changed, just our understanding of the full spectrum of the Gospel grew bigger.

God often choses to display in rainbows the full spectrum of His white light. When you display with an instrument the full color spectrum of white light the full color spectrum—red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, grey—you do diminish one iota the whiteness of white.

I.  john the Baptist jumped ahead of Jesus in preaching the Gospel.

In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea,

And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

And the same John had his raiment of camel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was locusts and wild honey.

Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan,

And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins.

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance…”  (Matthew 3:1-8)

II.  Jesus came originally preaching the gospel of the kingdom, a gospel of the Heavenly Father.

Jesus came at first preaching the gospel of the kingdom centered around the Heavenly Father as shown in the chapters of the Sermon on the Mount.

     1.  Matthew 5:45 — “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.”

     2.  Matthew 6:4  “That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.”

       3.  Matthew 6:9,10  “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

     4.  Matthew 6:24   “24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

III.  Things of the Gospel greatly changed when Jesus established “My Church”.

18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not [a]prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth [b]will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

20 Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ… (Matthew 16:18-29)

IV.  As today the Pharisees were always in there adding a Confusion Factor to the Gospel. Even as the Pharisees attempted to divert everything Jesus said and did, so does the DTS Pharisees today divert the real gospel today, trying to replace the gospel Jesus came preaching with a gospel of rapture, a gospel of millennium, and a gospel of dispensationalism.

I’m sorry, but if you consider what they did to slaughter moderates during the fundamentalists takeover in the name of literal Bible, a hoax because they add the 3 infamous words to the Bible not even found once in the literal Bible—that is the kind of work Satan does, sorry to have say about anybody, but even as Jesus told the original Pharisees, even so are we forced to say of the DTS graduates, “You are of your father the devil.”  Sorry if there is the one in a million graduate that did not sell his soul to Scofield and Satan.

God gave Amos the words to describe these hypocritical Pharisees of DTS:

Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

2

Pass ye unto Calneh, and see; and from thence go ye to Hamath the great: then go down to Gath of

the Philistines: be they better than these kingdoms? or their border greater than your border?

3

Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near..”  (Amos 6:1-3)

And to describe the poor moderates they slaughtered:

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail…(Amos 8:4)

V.  The Gospel of the CROSS—“I if I be lifted up will draw all men unto me”.

27 “Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name.”

Then a voice came from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.”

29 Therefore the people who stood by and heard it said that it had thundered.

The cross changed everything forever

VI.  After the Gospel of the Resurrection, Jesus went back to teaching His disciples the things pertaining to the kingdom”.

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:…” (Acts 1:3_

VII.  Forever at least until Christ delivered the kingdom to God the Father, that the Father might be all in all”.
