Doctrine and Spirit Go Hand in Hand: “The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophesy”

Sunday Message on THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST.  This series of 3 messages was delivered on Facebook yesterday, repeated here in long form so you can READ and LISTEN. NOTE:  About the title, it may seem strange to have a title from Revelation to begin this message from Hebrews; however the distortions of the Doctrine of… Continue reading Doctrine and Spirit Go Hand in Hand: “The Testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophesy”

The Book of Hebrews: Chapter 1 on the Falling Away.

Chapter 1:     The Falling Away. Senator McCain of Arizona called terrorism “the challenge of our generation.”  As the world of natural people think, at least the non-Muslim half of the world, terrorism is a good challenge to place up there at the top as a United States national goal.  Definitely the American Democratic Faith, which… Continue reading The Book of Hebrews: Chapter 1 on the Falling Away.

No Neglect because there is NO ESCAPE!

Admittedly there is a lot of tolerance with Our Father which art in heaven with Neglect since “God is patient and not willing that any should perish” into Hell and the Lake of Fire and brimstone; however, there is zero tolerance for ESCAPE.  THERE IS NO ESCAPE FROM THE ETERNAL, ALL-POWERFUL AND ALL-SEEING GOD WHO SITS RIGHT NOW ON THE GREAT WHITE THRONE WITH HIS FEET IN THE CLOUDS.

King David learned as a shepherd lad from those long days and nights alone tending his father’s sheep, that there was absolutely no place to escape from God.  The Psalm he wrote is famous:

“Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall[a] on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”  (Psalm 139:7-12)

  1. There is NO ESCAPE for NEGLECT of salvation because inevitable, unless Christ comes again, death knocks at the door of all and then all freedom of choice and control of the soul is lost.

“And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment…”  (Hebrews 9:27)

You know how people say that there is nothing certain, but death and taxes; however eternal reality demands that the judgment of God the Father must be added to the real story:  It is death, taxes, and judgment.

  1. There is NO ESCAPE for Neglect of salvation because life is short and before you realize it is going to be over.  Life experience and psychology tell us that people hardly ever think about death and dying, but just like government and taxes it is an inevitable reality.

“…whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”  (James 4:14)

  1. There is NO ESCAPE for Neglect because in God’s plan for a new heaven and a new earth, it is a kingdom of righteousness and the presence of God with man. God wants and demands the eternal best for man, so He has cast out all possibility for the sin of neglect in both heaven and the new earth.

But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”  (II Peter 1:5-11)
