Summer Home in the Forever Kingdom and First Home in Abraham’s Bosom.

Summer Home in the Forever Kingdom and First Home in Abraham’s Bosom.  Think big for eternity, we love and serve a big God!  {In photo above you can see the sunshine and almost feel it!}

2 Corinthians 5:1-4

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God,
an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked.
For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.

Eternal Homes and Houses located on Abraham’s Bosom Reserve

Bible on the Forever Kingdom as in Isaiah 65 and 66 provide background to appreciate our Eternal Homes of NT verses like II Corinthians 5:1-4 and Revelation 21.

For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor
come into mind.
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing,
and her people a joy.
And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more
heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the
child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of
They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a
tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.” (Isaiah 65:17-22)

Of course in order to get started we must reconcile the not made with hands in II Corinthians with the made with our own hands on the new earth of Isaiah 65:22, “enjoy the work of their hands.” Their are two obvious possibilities: (1) the work of our hands in the Forever Kingdom is a transferred building from our good works here on earth, in other words, the good we do here automatically builds a bigger and better house for us on the new earth; or (2) we are dealing with the difference in our home in Abraham’s bosom and then later our home in the forever kingdom of the new earth, after all there will be a great transition at the Second Coming with our bodies in heaven and our bodies on the new earth. Either way we don’t have to explain everything as the feudamentalists think they must do. This is rather part of what we “now know in part, but then shall we also know as we are known”, also part of what we can trust in our God as eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor has it entered into the heart of man the things that God has prepared for those that love Him. Either way, let us escape cowardness and show our trust in God and His Word by simply allowing the verses to say what they are trying to say, here in the Forever Kingdom we build our own houses with our own hands, and in the Abraham’s bosom of heaven we have houses not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Since we will all be rich after death, you might think of the house we build in the Forever Kingdom as our summer home and the house built for us in Abraham’s bosom as our first home in eternity. In other words, we will be allowed and encouraged to travel between our home in the New Jerusalem lowered down from heaven and the summer homes we build on the new earth.
Unfortunately with a knee jerk action often we back off of dreams about our eternal home, chosing to replace it with the so called American dream, because of cowardice against the world’s slurs on living for eternal hope and life here both. It is not without significance that the bottom passage of Revelation 21:8 lumps the fearful and unbelieving, or cowardly and unbelieving together as natural recipients of hell. You know how the world accuses believers IN CHRIST of other world motivations. You will find in the II Corinthians 5 passage some balance between this world and our eternal home not made with hands.

Revelation 21:8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
